Organic waste
As part of the implementation of the Waste Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Roadmap, the Department of Science and Innovation held an “Industry-meets-Science” Workshop on organic waste, on the 26-27 November 2014.
» Workshop Agenda
» Workshop Attendance Register
» Workshop Report
Objective : The aim of these Industry-meets-Science workshops is to –
- Highlight the problems industry/business face with respect to the waste stream, to ensure that RDI is directed to addressing key issues,
- Showcase to industry current RDI initiatives by South African Universities and Science Councils
- Identify priority issues that require future directed RDI
Outcomes : The outcomes of the workshop were –
- Opportunity for industry to build networks with specialists from the research community and obtain insights on possible RDI of relevance to their organisation, and
- Support uptake of industry research needs into the implementation of the Waste RDI Roadmap
