Project outline: The recovery of metals from electronic waste is becoming increasingly important from an environmental as well as economic perspective. The aim of this project is to evaluate the leaching behaviour of base and precious metals from printed circuit board waste when using amino acids as lixiviant. Different operating conditions will be investigated to determine whether selective base metal leaching and selective gold leaching are possible.
