Open and targeted grant calls provide the opportunity for researchers at South African universities and science councils to undertake relevant, impact-driven, multi-year research projects on issues related to the six Waste RDI Roadmap clusters and five priority waste streams. Grant projects are also intended to build national and regional waste capability, and as such, the inclusion of post-graduate students and young researchers is strongly encouraged.
It is the intention of the Waste RDI Roadmap to publish an annual call for proposals in May/June of each year, depending on the availability of funding.
